Streets of Rage 2

Streets of Rage 2 is a side-scrolling beat-em-up and one of the most acclaimed action games on the Genesis. The story follows Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding, vigilantes who previously cleaned up the streets, as they are drawn back into action when their friend Adam is kidnapped. The villainous Mr. X, the crime lord thought defeated in the first game, has resurfaced with a sinister plan to control the city. Joining Axel and Blaze in the rescue are Skate, Adam's agile younger brother, and Max Thunder, a powerful wrestler, each with distinct fighting styles. The player fights through multiple stages of gang members, thugs, and bosses, using weapons and combo attacks to carve a path to Mr. X's base. The game is celebrated for its fast, satisfying combat, excellent soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro, and memorable cooperative gameplay, cementing its place among the genre's best.
