Players speed through stages like the Emerald Hill and the futuristic Chemical Plant, collecting rings and power-ups while pursuing the Chaos Emeralds. Gathering all the emeralds transforms Sonic into a golden Super form, granting him the power to reach the final confrontation. It is a faster, bigger buddy-adventure that cements Sonic and Tails as heroes against an iconic evil.
