Sonic & Knuckles

This entry completes the story of Sonic 3, pitting the speedy hedgehog against the mad scientist Dr. Robotnik and the ancient super weapon he has revived. After the events of Sonic 3, the villain has reactivated a colossal aircraft and an ancient power source called the Master Emerald, threatening to enslave the island and its people. Sonic, aided by a brand-new echidna ally, sets out to smash the weapon and recover the emerald from Robotnik's iron grasp. The game introduces Knuckles the Echidna as a playable character, with his own hidden route and his side of the mystery. Its famous lock-on technology allows Sonic 3 to be combined with it, creating the full-featured Sonic 3 & Knuckles experience and rounding out a continuous adventure.
